Step 1: Keep records of all communications
- Say no to your sexual harasser’s advances in a very clear way.
- If you need to communicate with your harasser, do so in writing so that you can a trail of evidence to show when you file your claim.
- Keep records of any communications your sexual harasser has sent you.
- Keep record of the complaint filed with your supervisor and human resources, as well as anything findings from their investigation.

- Did your supervisor retaliate against you for filing a complaint. For example, were you threatened, passed over for a promotion, given a worse schedule, or even terminated?
- Does your sexual harasser have a history of sexual harassment complaints and or lawsuits?
Step 4: Were there witnesses to this harassment?
- Did others at your workplace witness this harassment take place or did they experience it themselves? Are they willing to testify?
- If the sexual harasser has a history of this conduct, are former employees who experienced it willing to testify?
