Sexual harassment refers to any unwanted sexual advances directed toward a person. It can occur anywhere. Those officials may be held liable in a court of law for turning a blind eye to the situation and not upholding their obligation to maintain a safe environment.

They may lose their job benefits, be demoted, or even fired for not giving in to pressure from sexual advances. If sexual harassment occurs in a different organization such as in a baseball team, that individual may suffer by not being allowed to play, for instance.
